Green Day and 3 Doors Down have seen a big increase in their music streams, but for very different reasons.
After their performance at the Super Bowl 60 opening ceremony on Sunday, Green Day’s streams jumped by 42%. Fans really connected with their classic songs, leading to impressive increases: “American Idiot” saw a 78% rise, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” went up by 46%, and “Holiday” increased by 53%.
On the other hand, 3 Doors Down experienced a staggering 236% boost in streams following the tragic death of their frontman, Brad Arnold, on Saturday. Arnold passed away at the age of 47 after battling cancer. In the wake of this sad news, their popular tracks also saw significant streaming spikes. “Here Without You” jumped by 207%, “Kryptonite” increased by 112%, and “When I’m Gone” rose by 167%.
Both bands have made a lasting impact on their fans, and these recent events show just how much their music means to people.
