Green Day launches Super Bowl 60 with their opening ceremony show.

Green Day kicked off the Super Bowl 60 opening ceremony on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The band started their set with Billie Joe Armstrong performing a solo version of “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” as past Super Bowl MVPs took the field.

They then launched into a medley of hits from their 2004 album, *American Idiot*, featuring “Holiday,” “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” and the title track. Notably, Armstrong skipped the verse in “American Idiot” where he usually sings, “I’m not a part of a redneck agenda.” In previous performances, he has changed that line to “MAGA agenda” as a protest against the Trump administration. However, he did sing the line, “The subliminal mindf* America.”

Armstrong was more outspoken during an invite-only concert in San Francisco on Friday. In fan-recorded footage, he called out U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), telling them to “Quit your sy a job.”

Overall, Green Day delivered a powerful performance that resonated with fans, blending their iconic music with a touch of political commentary.
