The Berlin-based DJ and producer HoneyLuv has shared a new track perfect for summertime. “Dancehall” is an anthem of ecstasy, celebration, and expression.
The buoyant fusion of Latin pop and Afrobeats marks the first time that HoneyLuv has performed vocals on an original version of one of her own songs.
“‘Dancehall’ came to life one night in my London flat; I was just vibing, mixing house with the dancehall and reggae I’d been into lately,” HoneyLuv said in a statement. “Took it to the studio with the crew, and we knew we had something special. I’m counting down the days until you can finally vibe to it in full.”
HoneyLuv released her first music in 2021 and has been on the rise ever since, finding success with tracks like “Your Tongue,” “365 (Thr33 6ix 5ive),” and the Sex & The City EP, a collaboration with Seth Troxler. In 2023 she was crowned BBC Radio 1’s Future Star by Danny Howard and named the year’s breakthrough producer by DJ Mag. “I thought it was going to take eight years to get to where I’m at now, and I was ready to do it,” she said, reflecting on her DJ Mag award. “I was down to put in the work and fight to make the impossible happen… And now we’re here. It goes to show that anything is possible if you consistently work hard, treat people well, and do what you love. I’m very proud of myself, and grateful to be recognised.”
HoneyLuv has conquered stages at Coachella, Ultra Music Festival Miami, and Cercle Festival, performed alongside names like the Martinez Brothers, Idris Elba and Kevin Saunderson, and collaborated with Annie Mac, Muni Long and Jaden Thompson. HoneyLuv will be performing upcoming sets in Ibiza, Washington D.C., and the United Kingdom.
