This fall, Hulu is bringing a raw look at metal music with the new series *Into the Void: Life, Death & Heavy Metal*. Starting September 22, the show features eight gripping stories from the genre’s history, with big names like Sharon Osbourne, Phil Anselmo, and Randy Blythe sharing their experiences.
Each hour-long episode dives deep into metal’s past. The first episode honors guitar legend Randy Rhoads, who tragically died in a plane crash in 1982. Sharon Osbourne reflects, “Randy was a gift from God. He pulled the best out of Ozzy.”
The series doesn’t shy away from the darker moments in metal history. Viewers will learn about Judas Priest’s 1985 court case, the shocking murder of Pantera’s Dimebag Darrell, and Death founder Chuck Schuldiner’s battle with illness. Other stories include those of Wendy O. Williams, Iranian band Confess, and Hellion’s Ann Boleyn.
Producers Jason Eisener and Evan Husney aim to challenge the clichés often associated with metal. They previously found success with Vice TV’s *Dark Side of the Ring*, and they’ve teamed up with Guillermo Garcia and Barry Davis from Vice Studios Canada for this project.
The series combines old footage with new insights to showcase the wild side of metal. In the trailer, Sharon Osbourne emphasizes the harsh realities of the music business, saying, “You don’t know how ugly this business can be. … Music is something that doesn’t die. After we’ve gone, it will live on.”
Don’t miss *Into the Void: Life, Death & Heavy Metal* on Hulu starting September 22!
