The Foo Fighters wrapped up their Asian tour on Friday in Japan, marking a special moment for drummer Ilan Rubin. This was his first tour with the band, and he shared his excitement on Instagram. “First @foofighters tour was absolutely fantastic!” he wrote. “Every audience was incredible and such a pleasure to perform for.” He also posted a video of his drum solo from the final show in Japan.
Rubin, who spent over a decade with Nine Inch Nails, joined the Foo Fighters after Josh Freese left the band. Freese had only been with the Foo Fighters since May, stepping in after the passing of Taylor Hawkins. In a twist, Freese has now rejoined Nine Inch Nails, where he played from 2005 to 2008.
The Foo Fighters are set to hit the stage again in November for two shows in Mexico. Fans are eager to see what’s next for the band and how Rubin will continue to shine in his new role.
