Beer lovers, mark your calendars for the Yards Real Ale Invitational on Sunday, April 12, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Yards Brewing Company in Philadelphia. This unique event features over 40 cask-conditioned beers from top Mid-Atlantic breweries, celebrating tradition and craftsmanship.
The Real Ale Invitational is all about Real Ale—beer that is unfiltered, unpasteurized, and naturally carbonated in a cask. This brewing method has been around for centuries, offering a smoother taste and richer flavors. Yards has been a champion of this style for over 30 years, starting with their Extra Special Ale, which is still served on cask today.
Since its launch in 2008, the Real Ale Invitational has become Yards’ signature event, honoring the way beer was enjoyed in colonial times. As Philadelphia gears up for its 250th anniversary in 2026, this festival pays tribute to the taverns of the past where friends gathered over cask beer.
Attendees can explore Yards’ brewing facility and sample special firkins made just for the event. Expect a variety of creative beers, including spiced English porters, barrel-aged Belgian quads, and unique blends like terpene-infused IPAs and habanero-watermelon pale ales. Participating breweries include favorites like Human Robot, Forest & Main, Evil Genius, and more.
Enjoy live folk-rock music from Burnin’ Bridges, along with food for purchase and classic Philly pretzels. Tickets cover beer pours, live music, food access, and a commemorative glass. VIP tickets are available for early entry and access to rare casks. The event takes place at 500 Spring Garden Street. For tickets and more info, check out yardsbrewing.com.
