Iron Maiden’s ‘Senjutsu’: Their Highest Charting Album on Billboard 200

Congratulations are in order for Bruce Dickinson and Iron Maiden, as the legendary metal band’s new album, Senjutsu, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, giving Maiden their highest chart position ever on the U.S. chart.

As Billboard reports, the band’s 17th studio album entered the chart at No. 3, pushing the equivalent of 64,000 album units, 61,000 of which were from physical album sales. Roughly 3,000 of Maiden’s album units were due to 3.57 million on-demand streams.

Coming in a No. 1 and 2 on the chart were rapper Drake for his just-released album, Certified Lover Boy, and rapper Kanye West for Donda, which was No. 1 last week and fell to No. 2. In Maiden’s home turf of the U.K., the band landed at No. 2, just behind Drake.

Iron Maiden also scored the second-largest sales week in the U.S. in 2021 for a hard rock/metal album in both album-equivalent and physical sales, only behind Foo Fighters and their latest release, Medicine at Midnight.
