Jack White has replied after country singer Charley Crockett said he lost respect for him over the Twin Temple situation.
In July, Twin Temple said Crockett dropped them from his tour because they use “Satanic imagery.” Jack White then invited Twin Temple to open his Los Angeles show. Twin Temple accepted.
Crockett later posted on Instagram—then deleted it—saying White “used it to sell tickets” and that he lost respect for him. Crockett also said Twin Temple wasn’t dropped for Satanic imagery. He wrote they were let go over “production requests” that raised concerns and that his tour “couldn’t accommodate them physically.” He added they were paid in full and that the vibe wasn’t right for an all-ages crowd.
White responded on Instagram. He began, “I never said nothing about this young buck before but since he’s trying to drag me into this here rodeo again, here’s my official response to Cowboy Charley’s accusations.” The rest of his post quoted lyrics from the 1984 novelty rap “Rappin’ Duke.”
Jack White’s LA show with Twin Temple is set for Sept. 29.
