Jane’s Addiction and Perry Farrell reach settlement, leading to dismissal of competing lawsuits

Jane’s Addiction and Perry Farrell have settled their legal battle. Farrell and his former bandmates—guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins—have agreed to dismiss their lawsuits against each other. The details of the settlement are confidential.

The lawsuits, filed in July, stemmed from an onstage incident between Navarro and Farrell during a Jane’s show in Boston in September 2024. After the altercation, the band canceled their tour and ultimately broke up.

Navarro, Avery, and Perkins accused Farrell of assault and claimed he was responsible for the tour’s end and the band’s breakup. They also said he left them with financial issues related to an album they couldn’t deliver to their record label. On the other hand, Farrell claimed he was the one who was assaulted and said his former bandmates harassed him.

The lawsuits were dropped after both parties released statements on December 17, showing they were working to resolve their differences. Jane’s Addiction said, “Today we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences, so that the legacy of Jane’s Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together.”

Farrell also apologized for his actions during the Boston show, saying, “My aim has always been to give our audience the best possible show. In Boston, we fell short of that, and I’m truly sorry to everyone who was impacted.
