Jane’s Addiction has officially called it quits as of Wednesday. The split comes after the band members resolved their issues stemming from a fight that broke out onstage in September 2024. They met one last time to settle their differences and honor the legacy they built together.
Guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins shared, “Today we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences, so that the legacy of Jane’s Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together. We now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors.”
Frontman Perry Farrell also addressed the situation, apologizing for his actions during the incident at Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion. He wrote, “I’d like to address what happened on stage last year. I’ve reflected on it and know I didn’t handle myself the way I should have. I apologize to our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show.”
The other three members admitted they made mistakes too, stating they “unilaterally determined it would be best to not continue the tour and made inaccurate statements about Perry’s mental health which we regret.”
The fight happened during a concert on September 13, 2024, when Farrell shoved and punched Navarro while performing. The altercation led to the cancellation of the rest of their reunion tour.
In July, Navarro, Avery, and Perkins filed a $10 million lawsuit against Farrell, accusing him of assault and other claims. Farrell responded with his own lawsuit, alleging harassment and contract violations.
Their last single, “,” was released in July. Farrell recently performed at The Doors’ 60th anniversary show, marking his first performance since the Boston incident.
