Members of Jane’s Addiction, Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins, have filed a lawsuit against Perry Farrell, who has responded with a countersuit. The legal battle began after an incident in September 2024, when Farrell attacked Navarro on stage during a concert in Boston.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, accuses Farrell of several serious charges, including assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract. The band claims that the cancellation of their tour dates has cost them over $10 million. They state that Farrell’s violent outbursts and inability to perform as the frontman have made it impossible for the band to continue. The lawsuit highlights the physical, emotional, and financial damage caused by Farrell’s actions, affecting not just the band members but also their families and loved ones.
In response, Farrell filed a countersuit just hours later. His legal team claims that the band only took legal action after learning he was planning to do the same. Farrell alleges that he has been the target of a “bullying campaign” within the band for years. His countersuit includes similar accusations of assault, battery, emotional distress, and breach of contract.
Farrell also expressed his desire to continue the Jane’s Addiction tour. He claims that when his bandmates cited his mental health as a reason for canceling the tour, it was an attempt to undermine him.
As of now, it’s unclear when these lawsuits will be heard in court. Fans are eagerly waiting for updates on this unfolding drama.
