Jason Newsted reveals his inaugural North American headlining tour with The Chophouse Band

Jason Newsted, the former bassist of Metallica, is hitting the road for his first North American headlining tour with The Chophouse Band. The tour kicks off on July 1 in Northampton, Massachusetts, and wraps up on July 22 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Tickets will be available starting Friday at 10 a.m. local time.

Newsted shared his excitement, saying, “I’ve realized that this is where I can place my energy effectively now. The Chophouse is the continuation of my ambassadorship of American music.” He described The Chophouse Band’s sound as a mix of genres, stating, “TCB plays everything from bluegrass to f slabs of metal. There could be country flavor to a song, but it’ll still have sharp teeth. We are looking forward to an exciting summer!”

In addition to their headlining shows, The Chophouse Band will also open for the country rock group Blackberry Smoke on select dates. For the complete list of tour dates and ticket information, fans can visit ChophouseBand.com.

Newsted joined Metallica in 1986 after the tragic death of Cliff Burton. He played on several iconic albums, including 1988’s …And Justice for All and the famous 1991 self-titled album, known as The Black Album. He left the band in 2001 and was succeeded by bassist Robert Trujillo, who is still with Metallica today.
