L7 bassist Jennifer Finch has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. The band says she has had multiple surgeries and serious complications and now needs extensive medical care, rehab, and professional in-home support.
Friends, family and L7 have started a GoFundMe to help cover urgent expenses and keep her safely at home. Finch, 59, was already announced in May as not joining the band’s Last Hurrah farewell tour this fall because of health issues. The band says the tour was planned when all four members were healthy, and that Finch asked them to continue. They will do so while making her care their top priority.
“Jennifer is part of our family,” L7 wrote. “We love her, and we want her to feel the full strength of the community that has loved and supported her for so many years.”
