Alice in Chains has only played one concert in 2025, but guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell says they tried to do more. “We planned on doing much more this year,” he shared. “But it just didn’t work out.”
One major setback was drummer Sean Kinney’s medical issue, which led to the cancellation of their spring concerts. “We also had a tour planned for right now that kind of fell through,” Cantrell added.
Looking ahead, Cantrell mentioned that the band will reassess their plans early next year. They will decide whether to record a new album, do more shows, or possibly both.
The one show Alice in Chains did perform in 2025 was a significant event: the Back to the Beginning concert. This concert featured the final live performances by Ozzy Osbourne and the original Black Sabbath lineup. Sadly, Ozzy passed away just over two weeks later.
In the meantime, Cantrell has been busy promoting his latest solo album, *I Want Blood*, which was released in 2024. Fans are eager to see what Alice in Chains will do next!
