Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration Announces Seven East Coast Concerts This Summer

This summer, an all-star band made up of members from the Grateful Dead family will pay tribute to Jerry Garcia and his musical legacy. They will perform seven concerts as part of the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration across various venues in the Northeast. This marks the first time in ten years that these orchestral performances will take place.

Leading the group is keyboardist Melvin Seals, who has a long history with the Jerry Garcia Band. He will be joined by vocalist Jacklyn LaBranch, who also spent over two decades performing with Garcia. The lineup also includes bassist Grahame Lesh, son of legendary Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, guitarist Tom Hamilton, drummer John Morgan Kimock, and vocalist Kanika Moore. Kimock follows in the footsteps of his father, Steve Kimock, while Hamilton is known for his work with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, and Moore has performed with Doom Flamingo.

The tour kicks off on June 30 at Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts. After a break in July, the band will resume performances starting August 28 at TD Pavilion at Highmark Mann in Philadelphia. They will then head to Holmdel, New Jersey, on August 29, and Bethel, New York, on August 30. Canandaigua, New York, will host them on September 1, followed by Richmond, Virginia, on September 3. The final show will take place on September 4 at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia.

Each concert will feature a local orchestra, with the National Symphony Orchestra joining the band for the Wolf Trap performance. Fans can check for tickets and more details online. This is a great opportunity to experience the music of Jerry Garcia in a unique orchestral setting!
