Despite Steven Tyler’s impressive performance recently, Joe Perry has ruled out any upcoming tours with Aerosmith. In a recent interview, Perry shared, “I’ve been spending a lot of time with Steven, and he just doesn’t want to tour and he can’t tour. It’s tough. I’m not sure I would want to go out and book another 40-city tour. It’s a long way to the top, and staying there takes it out of you, especially on an Aerosmith tour.”
This news comes after Tyler struggled to fully recover from a fractured larynx, which affected the band’s plans. However, Perry remains optimistic about the future, stating, “I would bet that there’s an Aerosmith show left.” This gives fans a glimmer of hope that the legendary band might perform one last time, on their own terms.
Perry has previously hinted at the possibility of a final Aerosmith show. He mentioned, “We’re talking about it. I mean, except for anything on the calendar, we’re all alive and well, so we’ll just have to see. I know there’s gotta be at least another Aerosmith gig, and I’m not looking forward to putting the set list together for that one.”
The last time Tyler and Perry shared the stage was at a charity event for a non-profit founded by Tyler, which supports young girls who have faced abuse and trauma. They performed together for the first time since the cancellation of Aerosmith’s farewell tour, joined by guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and drummer Matt Sorum. The mini-set included classics like “Toys in the Attic,” “Sweet Emotion,” and “Walk This Way.” Fans can find footage of this special performance online.
