The guitarist says separate travel arrangements during the band’s recent tour stemmed from scheduling, not interpersonal conflict.
Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5 clarified in a recent radio interview that the band members flew on separate private planes toward the end of their recent North American tour due to travel logistics rather than internal conflict. He explained that long drives between West Coast cities prompted bassist Nikki Sixx and singer Vince Neil to take separate flights to accommodate family visits and travel plans, while he and drummer Tommy Lee eventually took their own plane as well. John 5 emphasized that the group gets along great and had fun together on the road.
The 33-date tour, titled The Return of Carnival of Sins, ran from July through late September across the United States and Canada, featuring special guests Tesla and Extreme. The run concluded on September 26 at the Cascades Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Washington, marking 20 years since the band’s original 2005–2006 Carnival of Sins tour and 45 years of Mötley Crüe.
