Guitarist John 5 has detailed his experience joining Mötley Crüe in 2022, replacing founding guitarist Mick Mars after Mars retired from touring due to health issues. John 5 recalled receiving the call to join while on the road performing with Rob Zombie during Mötley Crüe’s Stadium Tour. He shared that he was already in regular contact with the band members and instantly knew the catalog when bassist Nikki Sixx sent him a list of songs to learn.
Drummer Tommy Lee commended John 5’s addition to the group, stating that the guitarist brought a new sense of energy and excitement to every member. John 5 continues to perform in Mötley Crüe’s lineup alongside Lee, Sixx, and Vince Neil, with the band launching The Return Of The Carnival Of Sins North American tour in 2026 to celebrate their 45th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the original Carnival Of Sins tour.
