John Lennon’s Final Solo Concert To See Exclusive Record Store Day 2025 Release

John Lennon’s final and only full-length solo concert after leaving The Beatles is coming to an EP format as part of Record Store Day 2025. The four-track compilation, Power to the People – Live at the One to One Concert, New York City, 1972, will be available exclusively on April 12th, on 180-gram yellow vinyl.

The EP captures four performances from Lennon’s iconic One to One Benefit Concerts, held at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 30, 1972. The concerts, featuring Lennon alongside Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band and backed by Elephant’s Memory, raised over $1.5 million to support children with special needs, including those from the Willowbrook State School.

Produced by Sean Ono Lennon, the new EP includes three previously unreleased tracks, recorded between Lennon’s evening and afternoon shows: “Well Well Well,” “Cold Turkey,” and Yoko Ono’s “Don’t Worry Kyoko (Mummy’s Only Looking For A Hand In The Snow).” The EP also features a newly remixed version of the previously released “Instant Karma (We All Shine On)” (afternoon show). Power to the People will be limited to 3,000 copies in the U.S. and 5,500 worldwide.

In addition to the new EP, the One to One concerts are also set to be the subject of a forthcoming documentary, One to One: John & Yoko. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald, the film offers an intimate look at a transformative period for the couple in the early 1970s. The film premieres on April 11th, and will air on HBO later in the year.
