Joyce Manor has postponed two upcoming concerts because frontman Barry Johnson has a torn vocal cord. In an Instagram post, Johnson shared, “I went to a doctor yesterday and they confirmed I have a tear on my vocal chord. They said it’s not a super big deal, but I need to rest my voice for a few days.” He added that singing too soon could make the injury worse and lead to permanent damage.
As a result, the band’s shows in Toronto and Detroit, originally set for Thursday and Friday, have been rescheduled. The Toronto show will now take place on April 24, and the Detroit show will be on April 23. Johnson expressed his disappointment, saying, “I’m really sad that we have to postpone Toronto and Detroit, but I don’t want to mess up my voice permanently. I appreciate everyone’s understanding.”
Joyce Manor is still set to continue their tour on Saturday in Chicago. This tour supports their new album, *I Used to Go to This Bar*, which features the single “All My Friends Are So Depressed.” Fans are looking forward to the rest of the tour and wish Johnson a speedy recovery!
