Colombian superstar Juanes has just dropped his new single, “Cuando Estamos Tú Y Yo” (When It’s You and Me). This is the second track from his upcoming twelfth studio album. It follows his earlier hit, “Una Noche Contigo,” which made it into the Top 20 of the Latin Pop Airplay charts after its release in late April.
“Cuando Estamos Tú Y Yo” is all about love at first sight. Juanes shared that he was inspired by how The Beatles often started their songs with the chorus and title right away. He collaborated with the Colombian production trio Majestik, which includes Ily Wonder and Los Jaycobz, to write the song in just four hours.
Juanes premiered the track during his performance at the Hollywood Bowl on July 16, part of a special summer concert series that also includes shows in Washington and Chicago. The song comes with an official music video directed by Colombian-American filmmaker STILLZ, known for his work with Bad Bunny and Rosalía, and a Cannes Lion award winner.
The cover art for the single was created by Juanes himself, showcasing his artistic side alongside his music. With 29 Grammy and Latin Grammy awards, Juanes has been a major force in music for over 30 years, selling more than 15 million records worldwide. He also runs the NGO Fundacion Mi Sangre, which helps Colombian victims of anti-personnel mines.
