Judas Priest has unleased “Panic Attack,” the first single from their upcoming studio album Invincible Shield.

The song’s lyrics appear to address the seemingly everyday fervor and polarization that can be found in nearly every corner of the internet. This is demonstrated specifically in the second verse:

“Matters of fact fall on deaf ears
While the bitter mobs ramp up their fears
Go creeping round those corridors of power

As the dead heads gladly suffer sins
While the euthanizing then begins
The clock is ticking down to doomsday hour”

Invincible Shield comes out on March 8, 2024 and is available for pre-order in all formats at JudasPriest.com. This is the band’s first new studio release since 2018’s Firepower. Interestingly, Firepower gave Priest their highest charting position ever on the Billboard 200 album chart when it debuted at number five.

At the begin of the lyric video for “Panic Attack,” it lists who’s playing on the track. Notably included is guitarist Glenn Tipton. In February 2018, it was revealed Tipton was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease ten years prior. As a result, he stepped away from touring with Priest.

However, Tipton does make special appearances with the band, including during their set at Power Trip last week. Tipton joined the band for the final three songs of their setlist: “Metal Gods,” “Breaking the Law” and “Living After Midnight.” Fan-shot footage can be viewed below, along with their setlist from the show.
