Kali Uchis Shares New Single ‘Sunshine & Rain’

Kali Uchis has released a new single. “Sunshine & Rain” is the first offering from her upcoming fifth studio album, Sincerely,. Out May 9, it’s available for pre-save now.

“Sunshine & Rain” touches on the stabilizing effects that motherhood and a healthy romance have had on her life. (Uchis welcomed her first child in 2024). She wishes the same happiness for the world and vows to be a source of peace for those that depend on her.

“Through sunshine and rain, as seasons change, we all need somebody that makes the earth feel heavenly,” she sings. “Baby, I’ll be that somebody because you’re that someone to me.”

“This record is about embracing a life of enjoyment despite the world or your circumstances…” says Uchis on the meaning behind the track, “an existential piece focusing on the vulnerability and romanticism of life.”

Upon announcing Sincerely, earlier this month, Uchis also revealed that she has signed a new label deal with Capitol Records. She released her last two albums, 2023’s Red Moon in Venus and 2024’s Orquídeas, via Geffen.

Uchis recently appeared on JENNIE’s “Damn Right,” also featuring Childish Gambino and d4vd’s “Crashing.”

Last year’s Orquídeas was Uchis’ fourth album and second Spanish-language release. The album was her highest-charting release to date, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It featured crossover hit singles like “Igual Que un Ángel” with Peso Pluma and “Labios Mordidos” with Karol G. “This album is inspired by the timeless, eerie, mystic, striking, graceful and sensual allure of the orchid,” Uchis said. “With this vast scope of fresh energy, I wish to redefine the way we look at Latinas in music.” Orquídeas was nominated for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Best Pop Vocal Album at the Latin Grammys, and took home trophies from the Billboard Latin Music Awards and Latin American Music Awards.
