Katy Perry’s ‘Hot N Cold’ Joins The Spotify Billions Club

“Hot N Cold” has entered an elite tier of Katy Perry hits: The 2008 single is now her seventh song to join the Spotify Billions Club by tallying more than one billion streams on the platform.

The follow-up to Perry’s breakthrough hit “I Kissed A Girl,” “Hot N Cold” was released as the second single off of her 2008 album One Of The Boys. It continued her run of success, hitting No. 1 on the US Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, and Dance Singles Sales charts and peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 52nd Grammy Awards and has been certified 8x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Perry is no stranger to the Billions Club. She first cracked the billion mark on Spotify with the Juicy J collab “Dark Horse” in 2022. Since then she’s added the Calvin Harris/Pharrell Williams/Big Sean team-up “Feels,” “Roar,” “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” “Firework,” “The One That Got Away,” and now “Hot N Cold.” Spotify is not the first platform where “Hot N Cold” has surpassed a billion streams; the song’s Alan Ferguson-directed music video has over 1.2 billion views on YouTube.

The long-term streaming achievements continue Perry’s run of chart success throughout her career. She’s sold over 143 million units worldwide and racked up nine Hot 100 No. 1 hits, including a record-tying five from the same album, 2010’s Teenage Dream. She returned this year with her first album in four years, 143.
