Keb’ Mo’ Shares New Album Preview In ‘Good To Be (Home Again)’

Five-time Grammy-winning blues-Americana notable Keb’ Mo’ today (14) releases his new single “Good To Be (Home Again)” on Rounder Records. It’s the near-title song from his Good To Be album, which follows on January 21.

The new song follows the appearance last October of the first preview of the album, “Good Strong Woman,” featuring Darius Rucker. The country star is among a number of contributors to the set, also including Kristin Chenoweth, and Old Crow Medicine Show. Keb’ Mo’ co-produced Good To Be alongside another country hero, Vince Gill, who oversaw three tracks, and triple Grammy winner Tom Hambridge, whose credits include B.B. King and Buddy Guy.

“Good To Be (Home Again)” is a celebration of Keb’s upbringing in Compton, California, with a theme of growing old and growing up without forgetting where you come from. He wrote some of the album in the house in Compton in which he grew up, and some of it in his adopted home town of Nashville.

“I believe that music has the power to heal,” says Mo’, “and I wanted this album to make people feel good. I wanted it to bring joy and make them maybe think about where they come from and the journeys that brought them to where they are.”

Keb’ Mo’’s last album of all-new material, Oklahoma, was released in June 2019 and won the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards. He followed it with his first holiday release, Moonlight, Mistletoe & You, in December that year.

Mo’ will support the release of Good To Be with a vast touring schedule in the first half of 2022. His next show is on January 20, the first of two consecutive nights at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. Two dates are booked at City Winery in New York on January 30 and 31, and he starts a solo European tour on May 6 in Switzerland.
