Keith Urban has announced that he will resume his residency in Las Vegas in September. The country star has confirmed five new shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, beginning on September 17. Further dates in the run are on September 18, 22, 24, and 25, with tickets on sales from June 7. Presales begins tomorrow (2) at 10am PT.
Urban is currently due to resume live work at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines on August 21. He’s also booked for the Bash In The Bay in Put-In-Bay, Ohio on August 26, the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, MI on August 28 and a September 11 show at the Choctaw Grand Theater in Durant, OK.
As often, he will embark on a homecoming Australian tour leading into the holidays, starting on Newcastle on December 1. The itinerary includes two dates in Sydney, two in Melbourne, and two in Brisbane, concluding with a December 19 concert at the Gold Coast Convention and Entertainment Center.
In April, Urban released his official video for “Out The Cage,” featuring Breland and Nile Rodgers. He wrote on social media of the track, taken from his 2020 album and country No.1 The Speed of Now, Part 1: “‘Out The Cage’ isn’t about one specific thing, but ‘confinement’ of every kind, whether it’s real, imagined, at the hands of other forces, or of our own making – the desire & fight to be released from that is the core spirit. It’s about liberation from all that is imprisoning us.”
He also noted, of the involvement of the ever-in-demand Chic bassist and producer at large, that the song “had such a funk undertone, and I said we have just got to have @nilerodgers on this bad boy….so I called him up and he said ‘hit me the track.” He added his magic and it just clicked perfectly.”
