Kiana Ledé Shares Electric Music Video For ‘Ur Best Friend’ With Kehlani

Los Angeles-based R&B star Kiana Ledé has released the steamy music video for “Ur Best Friend,” her latest single and collaboration with Grammy-nominated R&B singer Kehlani, who also directed the visual.

The “Ur Best Friend” video stars Ledé, Kehlani and rapper Vic Mensa. The visual opens at a lively birthday party where the DJ spins the electrifying R&B track. The story that unfolds is one of a secret romance after Ledé’s character, coupled with Mesna, falls for his best friend, portrayed by Kehlani.

“I always knew from the beginning / The whole time, it’s you that I was feeling / Seems like things are better when forbidden / And that’s why I hate that / I hate that you ain’t your best friend,” the pair exchange on the song.

The visual was co-directed by Gabriel Phoenix and brought to life by a team of dozens of creatives. “Thank you so so much to everyone that helped put this MOVIE together,” Ledé wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for your dedication, energy, love and time it took to make this happen.”

In a separate post, Kehlani added: “Really wanna thank everyone who worked so very hard on this. It was a beautiful day and I’m so proud of my team and Kiana/her team. She was awesome to direct and co-star with.”

“Ur Best Friend” serves as the lead single to Ledé’s forthcoming album, currently untitled but set to be released this fall.

The project will follow Ledé’s 2020 album KIKI which featured collaborations with Ari Lennox, Ant Clemons, Jacquees, Lucky Daye, 6LACK, Moneybagg Yo, BIA, Col3trane, Arin Ray, and Gary Clark Jr.

Prior to sharing “Ur Best Friend,” Ledé appeared on collaborations with G-Eazy, They., Niko Malters, D-Nice, and Femme It Forward. Produced by OG Parker, Smash David, Mike Woods, and Jason Cornet, the single offers a glimpse into the sizzling R&B world Ledé is setting up for her forthcoming project.
