Kid Rock says he and President Donald Trump talk late at night. The rocker told Australia’s Sky News their friendship is “f awesome” and that he calls Trump when he’s up late. “It’s one of my late night drinking tricks,” Kid Rock said. “He always picks up or he’ll call and check in just to shoot the s*.”
He says their chats are casual. “He’s not calling about Iran or anything,” Kid Rock said. “If I’m having beers at 11 or midnight on a Friday or Saturday, I know he’s up. He sleeps like me—about five hours.” He added he enjoys hanging out with Trump and watching what he called “the greatest s* show on earth.”
Their connection made headlines after two Apache helicopters flew near Kid Rock’s Nashville home in March. Pilots were briefly suspended, then the suspensions were lifted. Kid Rock later told a local station he thought the pilots would be fine and called Trump “my buddy” and “the commander in chief.”
