Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive brought their co-headlining “Collapse The World” tour to the Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia, PA on Saturday night.
Boston’s own hardcore/mathcore band Vein opened the night and vocalist Anthony DiDio’s energy was at a 10 and a prelude to what we would see throughout the night.
Minnesota’s After the Burial was up next and even with lead singer Anthony Notarmaso explaining to the crowd that he had a herniated disc in his back and could move much, the the band was still able to get the fans so amped up that they had to stop the show for about 15 minutes while someone who broke their knee in the mosh pit had to be carried out.”
Killswitch Engage showed why they are one of the most influential acts of the genre of the last 20 years. The band played 16 songs that spanned their 20 year career from the more recent The End of Heartache’s “Take This Oath,” “Rose of Sharyn” and “Life To Lifeless” to older songs like “Alone I Stand,” “Strength of the Mind” and a cover of Dio’s “Holy Diver” to finish their set.
