Kings of Leon Release Satellite-Based Lyric Video for ‘Cold Blue Dawn’

The band teamed up with The Weather Channel and NASA for a new visual previewing their upcoming album, ‘O My Beloved.’

Kings of Leon have partnered with The Weather Channel to release a lyric video for their new song, “Cold Blue Dawn.” The visual uses satellite imagery from NASA’s Landsat program, displaying the track’s words across the natural contours of Earth’s rivers, coastlines, farmland, and mountain ranges. The video later transitions into archival footage of the band performing and outdoors. “Cold Blue Dawn” serves as the second preview from Kings of Leon’s 10th studio album, O My Beloved—following the release of “My Whole World”—which is scheduled to arrive on Nov. 6.

The collaboration originated after The Weather Channel created a viral video featuring weather formations set to the band’s song “Pyro.” Kings of Leon member Caleb Followill shared that his family were regular viewers of the network, leading the band to initiate a partnership. Rohit Agarwal, CEO of The Weather Company, expressed that the project combines science and creativity to reflect how both weather and music shape shared experiences.
