KISS has released a special 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of their iconic album, Alive!, through UMe. This exciting package features 120 tracks, including 88 recordings that fans have never heard before. The original album has been remastered by Bernie Grundman from the 1975 stereo analog master tapes, making it available for the first time on a single CD.
Eddie Kramer has also contributed by creating new mixes of two full concerts from the 1975 Dressed To Kill Tour. Fans can enjoy the complete second show from July 20 at the RKO Orpheum Theatre in Davenport, Iowa, as well as the July 23 performance at Wildwood Convention Hall in New Jersey. Kramer used the original multi-track analog tapes without adding any overdubs.
The Super Deluxe box set includes five rehearsal tracks from Davenport and six songs recorded at Cleveland Music Hall on June 21, 1975. The Blu-ray Audio disc features Kramer’s new mix of Alive! in Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround sound, along with newly remastered stereo options in 192kHz 24-bit and 96kHz 24-bit PCM.
Both the vinyl and CD box sets come with a 100-page hardcover book, featuring liner notes by Ken Sharp and interviews with Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and others from the band’s circle. The collection also includes a reprint of the 1975 press kit, which has photos, a tour program, a T-shirt iron-on, backstage passes, and ticket stubs. Additional goodies include posters, a lenticular album cover, double-sided coasters, guitar picks, a bumper sticker, and an Alive! die-cut mobile.
For vinyl lovers, the 50th Anniversary Deluxe Vinyl features 2 picture discs in a deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket, with only 1,000 units available. The Premium Vinyl is pressed on gold and white cornetto with black splatter, with 3,000 units available. Don’t miss out on this amazing collection!
