Korn Guitarist’s Side Project Venera Releases New Album with High-Profile Collaborators

Korn’s James “Munky” Shaffer and composer/filmmaker Chris Hunt are back with their next Venera release. Their new album, titled *Exinfinite*, will be out on September 12 through PAN Records. This time, they’ve teamed up with guest vocalists FKA twigs, Chelsea Wolfe, and Dis Fig, adding even more talent to the project.

According to the duo, *Exinfinite* is darker, heavier, and more percussive than their self-titled debut from 2023. Fans got a sneak peek of the album with the release of the first single, “Tear,” on July 10. The track starts off slowly with haunting guitar sounds before transitioning into electronic beats and rhythms.

The album features nine tracks packed with star power. Chelsea Wolfe collaborates on “All Midnights,” FKA twigs lends her voice to “Caroline,” and Dis Fig appears on “End Uncovered.” Other tracks include “Flatline,” “Asteroxylon,” “uuu773,” “meridians,” and “decreation.”

The music video for “Tear” combines sci-fi visuals with the song’s electronic pulse, created by EFFIXX and Samanta García.

The idea for Venera began in 2022 when Shaffer met Hunt. Their first album featured talented musicians like Deantoni Parks from Mars Volta on drums and Alain Johannes from Queens of the Stone Age. They also collaborated with bands like VOWWS and HEALTH.

You can listen to “Tear” now on streaming platforms. Get ready for *Exinfinite*—it promises to be an exciting release for fans!
