Lady A’s Hillary Scott has taken over from Chrissy Metz as the new host of the Apple Music Country show Country Faith. Her first edition of the biweekly, two-hour program aired on Sunday (28), featuring songs, special guests, and personal stories that inspire the country vocalist and songwriter, musically and spiritually.
“I was so excited to be asked to host Country Faith Radio this season,” says Scott. “I’m looking forward to having some of my dear friends on to catch up on life and what’s most important to us. I also can’t wait to share songs that have truly impacted me, have helped get me through difficult times and really just help remind us how connected we all are.”
‘Faith, family and community’
Apple Music says that the series will “celebrate the shared relationship between the Christian and gospel music communities as [Scott] goes into themes of faith, family, and community with special guests.” Country Faith is available to stream for free every other Sunday at 10am CST. It’a also available anytime, on demand, on Apple Music Country.
In 2016, during a break from recording with Lady A, the star released the album Love Remains, with Hillary Scott & the Scott Family. It reached No.1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart, No.2 on Top Country Albums, and No.7 on the Billboard 200.
That project featured Hillary’s father, Lang Scott, sister Rylee Scott, and her mother and fellow country singer Linda Davis. The album went on to win the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, while its track “Thy Will” won Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.
Meanwhile, Lady A are enjoying new success at country radio with their latest single “Like A Lady,” which Scott co-wrote with Dave Barnes, Michelle Buzz, Martin Johnson, and Brandon Paddock. The song climbs 42-39 in its third week on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
