Lady Gaga Offers Virtual Reality Experience For ‘911’ Video

Lady Gaga takes viewers behind the scenes during the filming of her surreal video for Chromatica song “911” in a new virtual reality experience via the CEEK VR app. The release closely coincides with the one-year anniversary of Chromatica, which arrived in May 2020.

The 360-degree CEEK VR experience was captured on set during the filming of the Tarsem Singh-directed short film. The cinematic visual finds the superstar rising in a desert and heading to an unspecified town where she acts in a series of vignettes featuring wacky characters.

Lady Gaga notched her sixth Billboard 200 number one success when Chromatica debuted in 2020. The set started with 274,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending June 4, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data – the biggest week for any album by a female artist in 2020.

Chromatica was originally slated for a 10 April release, but was delayed due to COVID-19 concerns. Lady Gaga previously hit No.1 on the Billboard 200 with the A Star Is Born soundtrack (with Bradley Cooper, in 2018 and 2019), Joanne (2016), Cheek to Cheek (with Tony Bennett, 2014), Artpop (2013) and Born This Way (2011).

While the album was a rousing success, Lady Gaga’s long awaited Chromatica Ball Tour has been rescheduled once again. Ticket holders have been notified that the tour, originally scheduled to take place last July and postponed to begin in July 2021, will now take place in the summer of 2022. Official dates have yet to be announced.

“While some parts of the world are moving quickly to open up, others are not yet ready,” Gaga shared in a statement on social media. “So until we can confirm all global dates, we have to postpone the Chromatica Ball shows to the summer of 2022.”

Last year, the singer shared the news of the tour’s initial postponement, saying: “We’ve been working hard to figure out the safest and soonest way to bring this show to you, but most importantly want everyone to be healthy and able to dance together at the shows as we always have.”
