Matt Cameron, former Soundgarden and Pearl Jam drummer, joins Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger on a new version of the Soundgarden song “Birth Ritual.” The original song was on the 1992 Singles soundtrack. This update was recorded for King Ultramega, a project led by Mark Menghi of Metal Allegiance, as a tribute to the late Chris Cornell.
Cameron says the song keeps its original intensity but sounds modern. He praises Hale’s vocals, and the guitars and bass. He also calls out Kim Thayil’s solo.
