LL Cool J, Cardi B Added To Lineup For ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’

LL Cool J and Cardi B have been added the lineup for this year’s Dick Clark New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest celebration.

According to reports in Billboard, the two rappers will perform just before the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s from two different locations, with LL Cool J taking the Times Square stage in New York City and Cardi B set to celebrate poolside at Fontainebleau Miami Beach in Miami.

The two hip-hop titans join a previously announced lineup featuring Megan Thee Stallion, Jelly Roll, Sabrina Carpenter and Tyla, all four of whom will perform in NYC. Aqua, Doechii, Ellie Goulding, Green Day, Janelle Monáe, Loud Luxury x Two Friends with Bebe Rexha, Ludacris, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Paul Russell, Reneé Rapp with Coco Jones and Thirty Seconds to Mars will also be included in the night’s festivities, hosted this year by Rockin’ Eve veteran Ryan Seacrest and singer Rita Ora.

In addition, Post Malone is set to sing “Chemical” in Las Vegas as part of the program, and K-pop girl group NewJeans will welcome 2024 with performances of “Super Shy” and “ETA” in South Korea. The special countdown kicks off on ABC at 8 p.m. ET Sunday, December 31, marking Dick Clark Productions’ 52nd New Year’s Eve broadcast.

It’s appropriate that Dick Clark’s 2023 Rockin’ Eve celebration will feature so many hip-hop trailblazers, with this year notably marking the genre’s 50th anniversary. Earlier this year, LL Cool J was part of CBS’ A Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip-Hop TV special. The hip-hop pioneer also introduced a massive tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop at the 65th annual Grammy Awards by introducing Black Thought from The Roots to kick off the festivities. The performance included features from Run-DMC, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Questlove, and more. LL Cool J brought out his trademark boombox, before ceding the stage to Salt-N-Pepa. Rakim followed, with Questlove accompanying him on the drums.
