Lorde is finally back, and she is taking her show on the road. After announcing her fourth studio album, Virgin, last week, the New Zealand pop star has announced the Ultrasound World Tour, bringing her hits new and old to venues across North America and Europe. Tickets for the tour officially go on sale on Friday, May 16, with a presale beginning on May 14. The tour kicks off in September in Austin, Texas.
“Every show I play is a collaboration between you and me,” Lorde wrote in an email message to fans. “We meet in a room and we make music together, our bodies and the machines in search of something bigger together. 12 years of meeting up and making sound that’s just for us. Since last time I’ve been stripping away unnecessary layers, finding us more room to move. I think that Ultrasound could be our masterpiece.”
Lorde will also bring some special friends and collaborators on tour with her. Supporting acts Jim-E Stack and Blood Orange (aka Dev Hynes) are both confirmed to have worked on Virgin. The Japanese House, Nilüfer Yanya, Chanel Beads, Empress Of, and Oklou will also join Lorde at various dates across the season. This is Lorde’s first tour since her Solar Power Tour concluded in 2023; that show took her across Latin America and Oceania in addition to North America and Europe.
Virgin is due out on June 27, almost four years after Lorde’s previous album Solar Power debuted. “I was trying to make a document that reflected my femininity: raw, primal, innocent, elegant, openhearted, spiritual, masc,” the artist said of the upcoming album in a different message to fans. “I’m proud and scared of this album. There’s nowhere to hide. I believe that putting the deepest parts of ourselves to music is what sets us free.” In addition to Hynes and Stack, frequent Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan collaborator Dan Nigro is also confirmed to have worked on the album, producing lead single “What Was That,” which debuted in April.
