Chicago-bred production duo Louis The Child have released their brand-new single entitled “hate u cuz i don’t” featuring breakout singer-songwriter, Bea Miller, along with a music video.
The track’s up-tempo production paired with Bea Miller’s slick pop vocals makes “hate u cuz i don’t” yet another head-bopping earworm by Louis The Child. The single will be featured on their upcoming Euphoria Project and is available now at all digital retail providers via Interscope Records.
Louis The Child says about the track, “We wrote this one with Bea over a year ago and it was really easy to create. Bea writes about things going on in her life and came in that day telling us about a situation with a boy, so we just channeled that all into the lyrics. The production and songwriting didn’t match with the idea of Here for the Now, but it felt perfect for the Euphoria Project. Sometimes you’re creating music for projects you haven’t even thought of yet.”
The music video for “hate u cuz i don’t” was directed by Gina Gizella Manning and finds Bea Miller impeccably styled in her signature eclectic looks brimming with sparkle, pattern, and color. The video bounces between shots of Miller passionately frustrated and alone in her thoughts and scenes with Louis The Child as she dances around them in a small room. Seemingly unbothered, the duo’s lack of reaction to Miller parallels the meaning behind the song, which is about trying to resist romantic feelings for someone who does not feel the same way and knowing it is time to let go.
Louis The Child is currently on the road on their headlining North American Euphoria Tour, which kicked off in July with support from Jai Wolf, K.Flay, The Knocks, Washed Out, What So Not, Whethan, Crooked Colours, Elderbrook, EVAN GIIA, Goth Babe, ilo ilo, MEMBA Slenderbodies, and Win and Woo. While the shows in Brooklyn, Aspen, Morrison, Madison, and Ogden are already sold out, tickets for the remaining Euphoria Tour dates are on sale now.
