Machine Gun Kelly, also known as MGK, recently shared his tough experience while getting a blackout tattoo. The artist, who performed in Los Angeles on January 31, 2026, opened up about the health issues he faced during the process. He first revealed the tattoo in 2024, but it wasn’t easy to complete.
In an interview, MGK explained that after the first week of getting the tattoo, he started feeling really sick. “My skin was turning yellow,” he said. He struggled to sleep and had trouble moving parts of his upper body. The complications arose because he wanted to finish the tattoo much faster than the two years that tattoo artist ROXX had suggested.
ROXX had warned him that completing the tattoo quickly would be nearly impossible, especially considering the pain involved. But MGK was determined and said, “Yeah, we got two months.” Despite the challenges, he pushed through and emerged from the experience feeling inspired. “Not just because of what I had done, but because of what I had to overcome,” he noted.
Currently, MGK is on tour in North America to promote his latest album, “lost americana,” released in 2025. He has also released a new song called “FIX UR FACE” featuring Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit, along with an EP titled “blog era boyz” with Wiz Khalifa.
