Mammoth WVH are coming back to the Philly area this fall. The band, led by Wolfgang Van Halen, are coming to the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA on Saturday November 18th. Jacky Bam Bam will be giving away tickets on his show this week. Tickets go on sale this Friday, and you can find the presale password here.
At the show, expect to hear tracks from their new album Mammoth II, which arrives on August 4th. This LP will expand upon the foundation set by Wolfgang’s solo debut, and judging by the songs we’ve heard so far, he’s leveling up this time around.
Nita Strauss is on board for the Mammoth II Tour, making it a night of guitar virtuosity. You may know Nita from her time on the road with Alice Cooper, or maybe you saw her on Demi Lovato’s recent rock tour. She just released her solo album The Call Of The Void, which boasts an all-star vocal lineup Lzzy Hale, David Draiman, Dorothy, Chris Motionless, and her pal Ol’ Black Eyes, aka Alice Cooper.

With the announcement of Mammoth WVH hitting the road this fall, we thought we’d revisit this interview in the MMaRchives with Wolfgang Van Halen…
Early on in the pandemic, Pierre Robert sat down in front of the fancy thinking box, tapped a few gadgets and BOOM, there was Wolfgang Van Halen on the screen. (Yes, he was still getting the hang of the Zoom interview process at the time, but has Pierre ever been great with technology?) These two had crossed paths a few years before when Wolfgang was playing with Tremonti at The Note in West Chester, a gig that we learn in this interview was a true case of being in the right place at the right time!
They go on to talk about the Mammoth WVH song “Distance.” The song is is a tribute to Wolfgang’s late father, the amazing Eddie Van Halen, and its overwhelming reception was a surprise and honor to a son singing about his dad. Pierre also takes Wolfgang on a trip down memory lane, looking back to early trips through Philadelphia while touring with Van Halen. Wolf was was just a teen playing bass for VH at the time, so his tutor turned the stop into a learning experience by visiting the classic historic stops. Oh, and cheesesteaks… a blind taste test to be exact.
