Mary J. Blige is set to bring one of her biggest career moments to the big screen with the release of “Mary J. Blige: For My Fans.” This concert film captures her historic sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden in April during her For My Fans Tour. The film will be shown in theaters worldwide on November 5 and 8.
In addition to the concert, the film will feature guest appearances and behind-the-scenes footage. Mary J. Blige expressed her excitement, saying, “Playing Madison Square Garden was huge for me. This is my home. Sharing this moment globally with my fans in a movie theater is more special than I can put into words. This tour was always for my fans, and making this movie for them means the world.”
Kymberli Frueh from Trafalgar Releasing added, “Mary J. Blige has always represented the heart and soul of New York, and her Madison Square Garden performance reflects that. We’re proud to share this historic concert with audiences around the world.”
The For My Fans tour, which ran from January to April, featured R&B stars Ne-Yo and Mario as opening acts. The setlist included classics like “Be Without You,” “Family Affair,” and “No More Drama,” along with songs from her upcoming album, “Gratitude,” set to release in 2024.
Last year, Blige was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a testament to her impact on music. Don’t miss your chance to see her concert film in theaters!
