Meat Loaf Pays Tribute to ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ Songwriter Jim Steinman

Meat Loaf shared a brief tribute to Jim Steinman, the songwriter behind his landmark album Bat Out of Hell, who died Monday night (April 19) at the age of 73.

Meat Loaf shared a number of photos of himself with Steinman over the years along with the caption, “Coming here soon, my brother Jimmy. Fly Jimmy Fly.”

TMZ reported of Steinman’s death, “We do know it appears it was sudden … there was a medical emergency call to his home around 3:30 AM Sunday to transport a male patient.” An exact cause of death is currently unknown.

Steinman has also worked with a number of other artists, including Bonnie Tyler (he wrote and produced her hit, “Total Eclipse of the Heart”), Air Supply (he wrote and produced “Making Love Out Of Nothing At All”) and Celine Dion (he co-produced her “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now,” which he wrote for a group called “Pandora’s Box”).
