Next year is shaping up to be exciting for music fans, with many legendary acts set to release new albums or reissue classic ones.
Megadeth will drop a self-titled album on January 23, marking their final studio work before retirement. This album includes a cover of Metallica’s “Ride the Lightning,” a song co-written by Dave Mustaine before he left the band in 1983.
Yes is releasing a super-deluxe edition of *Tales From Topographic Oceans* on February 6, 2026. This extensive package features 12 CDs, 2 LPs, and a Blu-ray, including a remix by Steven Wilson, studio sessions, and unreleased concert recordings from the 1973 album.
Joe Jackson will return to rock with *Hope and Fury* on April 10, 2026. This follows his 2023 album, *What a Racket!*, which featured music hall pieces performed with a 12-piece orchestra.
Squeeze is set to release *Trixies* on March 6, 2026. Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook wrote these songs before the band recorded their first album.
Power Station will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a reissue of its 1985 debut on January 23, 2026. Fans can choose between a 4CD or 2LP version.
Vinyl releases are also on the way from Van Halen and Cream. Van Halen’s *Live at Wembley 1995* will be available on January 9, while Cream’s *Royal Albert Hall London May 2-3-5-6, 2005* will hit stores on January 30 as a 2CD set and February 20 as a 3LP vinyl.
Other confirmed releases for 2026 include *Orphan Train* by John Mellencamp, *Operation: Mindcrime III* from Geoff Tate, *This Is Your Reality* by Alda Nova, and *Aviana* from Asia Featuring John Payne.
Sadly, albums from Brian Wilson and Ace Frehley may never be released after their recent passings. Wilson was working on *Cows in the Pasture*, while Frehley hinted at a spring release for *Origins, Vol. 3*.
The year will also see reissues from David Bowie, Talk Talk, Alice in Chains, and Phil Collins, along with various compilation box sets covering punk, post-punk, and garage rock.
