Dave Mustaine recently shared his thoughts on Yungblud’s collaborations with rock legends. In an interview, the Megadeth frontman warned that working with too many artists could blur Yungblud’s identity and weaken his unique sound. He explained, “When you say somebody is working with everybody, it means they might need a break or something to set them apart. Otherwise, their songs could end up sounding like someone else’s.”
Mustaine admitted he wasn’t familiar with Yungblud’s music. When asked if he would consider collaborating with him, he declined, saying, “If I was going to work with anybody right now, I’d keep working with Megadeth.”
Yungblud recently won a GRAMMY for his cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” at the Back to the Beginning concert, which helped him connect with the late Ozzy Osbourne. He also released an EP featuring Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, and collaborated with Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins on a reworked track.
The British musician is passionate about his approach to rock music. He believes that strict rules about tradition have stifled the genre. Yungblud pointed out that borrowing sounds has always been a part of rock history. His performance at Back to the Beginning helped him bond with other rock stars, and he stands by his Idols album as a true reflection of himself.
Yungblud continues to push boundaries in rock, proving that innovation and collaboration can coexist with individuality. Fans are excited to see where his journey takes him next!
