Frontman Matt Bellamy met with Mark Zuckerberg to set trademark boundaries for Meta’s new AI agent.
Meta Platforms has acquired the @Muse social media handle across multiple platforms for its new AI agent after CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with Matt Bellamy, frontman of the British rock band Muse. Zuckerberg previously sent Bellamy a beta version of the AI tool before inviting him to discuss trademark boundaries surrounding the shared name.
Under the agreement, Meta is restricted from using the brand for music or merchandise, allowing Bellamy to sell “Muse AI” T-shirts while agreeing not to develop a “Muse AI” product. Following the handle transfer, the rock band now uses @Musetheband on X and @museband on Instagram.
