October may be here, but Metro Boomin is still riding high with his mixtape, A Futuristic Summa. He just dropped the music video for “Take Me Thru There,” featuring Quavo, Breskii, YK Niece, and DJ Spinz. The video shows the rappers having a blast in a park, complete with dance crews and a bounce house for the kids.
Metro Boomin’s mixtape, Metro Boomin Presents: A Futuristic Summa (Hosted by DJ Spinz), was released on August 1 through Boominati Worldwide. The project features a star-studded lineup, including Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Lil Baby, T.I., and 21 Savage. He also highlights up-and-coming female rappers BunnaB and YK Niece, while paying tribute to Young Scooter and Takeoff. The mixtape focuses on Atlanta and the talented artists who have emerged from the city.
A Futuristic Summa nods to the early days of Atlanta rap, when the scene gained national attention in the early 2010s. The title references the Futuristic Era, known for artists like Yung L.A. and J Money. Metro Boomin has made it clear he wants to honor this classic era of Atlanta hip-hop. He even posted on social media, suggesting that newer fans might not connect with this project.
