Mick Mars Wants His Remains Spread in the Bermuda Triangle

Mick Mars has a plan for when it’s time to go to that great gig in the sky, but it’s a little more eccentric than the average person’s plan.

The former Mötley Crüe guitarist told Rolling Stone that when he dies, he wants to be cremated. Sure, that seems normal. However, he wants his ashes to be spread in the Bermuda Triangle.

“I want them to take it into an airplane and drop it into the center of the Bermuda Triangle,” Mars mused. “I want people to be able to say, ‘Mick Mars is lost in the Bermuda Triangle.’”

As if things couldn’t get more morbid, Mars believes he has about eight years left in his current human form, likely due to his decades of dealing with the spinal disease ankylosing spondylitis.

Mars, of course, is in the middle of a nasty legal battle with Mötley Crüe. The guitarist filed a lawsuit against his former band alleging his percentage of their profits was cut from 25 percent to 5 percent. This cut came following Mars’ retirement from touring with the band in October 2022.

Mars told Rolling Stone, “When they wanted to get high and f*ck everything up, I covered for them. Now they’re trying to take my legacy away, my part of Mötley Crüe, my ownership of the name, the brand.”

He added, “How can you fire Mr. Heinz from Heinz ketchup? He owns it. Frank Sinatra’s or Jimi Hendrix’s legacy goes on forever, and their heirs continue to profit from it. They’re trying to take that away from me. I’m not going to let them.”
