Last week, country star Mickey Guyton released her new single, “Woman,” on International Women’s Day. Now, she’s sharing the track’s music video with visuals to match the song’s uplifting lyrics.

Directed by Christen Pinkston and Wesley Stebbins-Perry, Mickey’s team shares that the video is “inspired by and a tribute to women of all shapes and sizes, occupations, and heritages. Guyton shares the spotlight in this video with an array of strong women honoring the power within all.” The black and white clip showcases a number of women portrait-style, who in turn hold up photos of important women in their lives. At the end of the video, Mickey’s son runs into her arms.

“Woman” was written by Guyton with Victor Franco, Oliver Frid, Kameron Glasper, and Tayla Parx. The track is Guyton’s first release of 2024, and she promises more new music in the upcoming months. Of the song, she said, “I loved the idea of writing a song that celebrates the power women have. Throughout history and even today, women have taken pain, setbacks, and doubt, and they turn that into inner strength, and they persevere to achieve incredible things. Releasing this on International Women’s Day seemed only fitting. We’re miracle workers, y’all!”

Mickey Guyton is a four-time Grammy nominee and was named 2022’s TIME Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Guyton found major success with her 2021 debut album Remember Her Name, when she made history as the first Black artist to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album. The record’s title track “Remember Her Name” also landed Mickey Grammy nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.

Guyton recently appeared on CBS Mornings to reveal the nominations for the 2024 CMT Music Awards when she learned of her own two nominations: Collaboration of the Year and Video of the Year – for her song “Nothing Compares to You” with Kane Brown.
