Mickey Guyton To Sing The National Anthem At Super Bowl LVI

Mickey Guyton announced she will be performing the national anthem at this year’s Super Bowl in Los Angeles. “I am shook, I am grateful, I am praise dancing,” Guyton wrote in a tweet. “So excited to be singing the national anthem.”

Guyton was already headed out to LA for Super Bowl week. Back in November, the 2022 Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest announced that it will feature three nights of A-list stars taking the stage at the Staples Center before Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles. The third go-round of the three-day wind-up to the big game will take place from Feb. 10-12 and kick off on Thursday with Halsey and Machine Gun Kelly with as-yet-unannounced special guests.

The party will keep rolling on Friday night with Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani taking the stage along with Mickey Guyton.

At the end of 2021, Guyton teamed up with Vince Gill in song on a new track from the Lionsgate movie American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story. “Love Changes Everything” is from the film starring Zachary Levi, Anna Paquin, and Dennis Quaid, which was given a theatrical release in the US on Christmas Day.

The ballad (neither a cover of Michael Ball’s major UK hit from Aspects of Love nor of Climie Fisher’s earlier British hit) is from the biopic of Super Bowl-winning quarterback Warner, and his love story with his wife Brenda played by Paquin. The MCA Nashville track is is produced by Robert Deaton.

Guyton, for her part, told Billboard: “I’ve always been such a big fan of Vince’s. Beyond his incredible voice and musicianship, no one has a bigger heart for giving back to the community and lifting people up like Vince. For him to ask me to be on ‘Love Changes Everything’ and to get to work with him on such a beautiful song was just so special.”
