Mike D, of the Beastie Boys, has released a new solo song called “Crypto.” The track will be on his upcoming debut solo album, Thank You. In the chorus he sings, “Have we got what we need/ Never stops indeed/ Bring you down on your knees/ Where’d you go with that greed.”
Thank You arrives Aug. 28. It also includes earlier singles “Switch Up,” “What We Got” and “True Colors.” This is the first full-length release tied to the Beastie Boys since the group ended in 2012 after Adam “MCA” Yauch’s death.
Mike D will start a string of U.S. solo shows on Aug. 30 in Boston. Fans can expect more tour dates and music around the album release.
